4 Steps to Remove Grease Stains From Sheet

Follow following steps carefully to remove grease stains from bed sheet.

Use Towel for Excess Grease

First take a towel and remove the excess grease very gently. Don’t rub the towel on the stained as area it will only set the grease. The main idea is use to just put the towel on the stained part of bedsheet and remove the excess grease that is there. Remove as much grease as you can before moving on to the next steps.

Rub Liquid Detergent on the Stained Area

Next, take liquid detergent pour it on the bed sheet and cover the whole stained area with it. You can also use mechanic’s soap or oil control shampoo for this step. After covering the stain with liquid soap rub the detergent in using brush. The friction between brush and bed sheet and the oil removing property of detergent will start removing the grease and a greasy soapy water will start forming. Wash your brush with clean water, pour some more detergent and scrub the bed sheet again with brush.

Baking Soda as Absorbent

When the grease stops coming off stop rubbing it with brush. Take some baking soda and hot water. Sprinkle some hot water on the stained area. Don’t make it too wet but make sure that the stained part of bed sheet is wet completely. Now sprinkle some baking soda and cover the stain. The baking soda will act as absorbent and the grease will start sticking with the baking soda particles.

After scrubbing the stain with baking soda, leave it for some time and scrub it again with some more baking soda. Keep doing this process until baking soda stops changing it’s color.

Use Vinegar with Water

Now soak the stained area of the bed sheet in solution of 1/2 cup vinegar and water using bucket or any other container. Make sure the stained part is dipped completely inside the solution. Leave it for some time and then rinse all the vinegar with water.

In the end wash your bed sheet in washing machine with normal liquid detergent, vinegar and normal temperature water. After washing it rinse it well with water to remove vinegar completely.

Repeat these steps if there is still a grease stain on your bedsheet until it is completely gone. In the end Dry your bed sheet in dryer using normal drying cycle.
